LTMP (Let the Music Play)

A new year in the making two months in already, January came and went. A lot transpired in 2025 and glad to say I survived that year. A different form of resilience and focus was established for sure; I’ll take that with me any and everywhere I go to say the least. A much-needed mental break during the end of the year holiday season was well worth it. Easing into this year was a priority to resist the urge of go go go mode, but Here I Am (flashback to a former blog). By the way, have I passed the deadline for saying Happy New Year to people?

Closed out the first term of teaching international business well the top of this year and I realized teaching is pretty cool😄. Grading papers are not so fun😑, but it’s part of it. A lot of the partnerships/networking during the launch of my fractional CFO consultancy last year are starting to produce a few opportunities throughout Q1 of this year! Grateful is an understatement. Tune in for the webinars as they come about as I’m considering hosting a financial modeling workshop for business owners and startups coming to a network near you soon.

To say I have it all figured out is a wild assumption, but I’m figuring things out as I go. Refining my business model, building upon relationships, continuous advancement of my skills, and developing good habits that’s sustainable are some of the few things I’m focused on at this time. Keeping it simple and executing on the delivery of services are important as I gain steam in this space. I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I’m thankful for the support system I have in place to keep me encouraged and my colleagues that send me potential opportunities to check out. Thank You!

In prior blog posts I incorporated lyrics 🎶 into my writing, but this one is a little different that’s why it’s entitled Let the Music Play (LTMP) because there’s no words to the song, just smooth jazz by John Coltrane I’ll Wait and Pray playing in my headphones 🎷🎧 as I type this up for consumption. Sometimes it’s soothing to just be quiet 🧘🏽 and let the music play, whether it’s Miles, Coltrane, Parker, or even Chet Baker, whatever you vibe to is for you😎. Maybe in this instance there is a little waiting happening for me, but I know for sure there’s a lot of praying🙏🏽.

Before we know it, it will be summertime (Charlie Parker)! Don’t rush the days, be where your feet are, and make the most of what’s in front of you. Til next time…
